Frequently Asked Questions:

  1. How do I book my session?

Well that is super easy! Just contact me. You can do that through this site or through social media. You could email or call/text me. After we agree on the details you will be sent an online contract and a model release to e-sign and an invoice for the session deposit.

  2. When is payment due?

A deposit of $100 will be due at the time of booking for family, couples and seniors. The remainder amount is due by the day of the photo shoot. Depending on the package you selected additional digital photos and packages can be purchased at the viewing and ordering session or through the online gallery. My policy for weddings and commercial photography is that 50% is due at the time of booking and the remainder is due within 30 days of the event. (Payment plans are available, just contact me and we can try to work something out).

  3. Do you have a studio?

No, I do not. I primarily use natural light and outdoor or at home locations. Occasionally, I will use a couple of my soft boxes or an off camera flash, but this would be rare (unless I am photographing a wedding).

  4. How long before I can see my pictures?

This depends on your session. For families the timeline is 2-3 weeks. For Seniors it is 3-4 weeks. If you book a wedding it will be 4-8 weeks. I will schedule your viewing and ordering session after the photo session.

  5. Can I order prints?
Yes! I offer several different packages, and Ala Carte options. After your photo session, we will have a viewing and ordering session where you can make your purchases. I believe having prints you can enjoy everyday is so important!

  6. What form of payment do you accept?

Cash, Check, Paypal and Credit/debit cards are all acceptable forms of payment. A 7% Indiana state sales tax will apply.

  7. How many pictures do you take and will I be able to see them all?

I will take many pictures. Please trust me to pick out the very best ones according to my artistic taste and ones that flatter you the most! I carefully edit only the very best ones. I do not deliver raw and unedited files.

  8. How far in advance do I need to book?

The earlier the better! If you are booking a wedding I would recommend at least 6 months in advance if possible!

  9. What if it rains or I need to reschedule?

We will work around it! I want to have good and open communication with my clients. Sometimes stormy skies are the best for photographs! We will have to play it by ear in case of rain. If you need to reschedule just let me know as soon as possible! The retainer fee is non refundable if you do not show up. Please give 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule.

  10. What do you recommend on wearing?

I wrote a whole blog on this very subject, HERE! I advise that you would stay away from neon colors. Try not to make everyone match. I would suggest picking something fitted that you are comfortable in and is somewhat timeless. Choose something that is YOU! When you book with me, I will send you a what to wear guide. You can also visit my Pinterest pages for inspiration. They can be found here.

  11. Will you travel? Do you do destination weddings?

Yes! I will travel within 50 miles of Columbus, Indiana. An additional fee of $.55 per mile will be charged for additional travel. I will do a small number of destination weddings a year. If you are wanting to book me for an elopement or destination wedding please contact me, and we can discuss custom packages.

  12. Do you do retouching?

Absolutely! This is included with my editing process. I want you to look like the best version of yourself! I remove blemishes, whiten teeth, take care of fine lines and wrinkles. I prefer not to do anything major. More involved editing will result in an extra charge or a denial of the service (such as body alterations).

  13. What time of day do you recommend for my session?

Ok, I am very particular on this, and it is because LIGHT MATTERS! Light can make or break your photo, so I recommend shooting at golden hour (1 hour before sunset) or right at sunrise. This is more directional light, and is just more pleasing. However, if you choose an indoor session (such as a home session) sometime during the day or evening is just fine.

  14. What do you use for editing?

I use both Lightroom and Photoshop. I think they are both such a great tool, and even greater used together!

  15. Are digitals included in your packages and will they include a print release?

Yes! All of the chosen and hand edited digitals are included with my family packages. For mini sessions or couple sessions I offer a number of digitals of your choice and the additional digital images are available for purchase. I do include a print release. I highly recommend ordering prints from me, as I use a professional lab to ensure the absolute best quality!

  16. Do you guarantee a certain number of images?

I do not, though it is usually around 40-50/hr. This will depend on the length of the session, or amount of hours covered at a wedding or event.

  17. What is in your camera bag?

I absolutely love my D850 and D750 Nikon cameras! The lenses I use the most is my Sigma 35mm f1.4 art lens and my Sigma 135mm f1.8 art lens. I also have a 50mm 1.8 Nikon lens. For those artsy shots I love using my Lensbaby Twist 60, and Edge 50.

  18. Is there a fee for extra people for family sessions?

Family session prices and packages are for your immediate family. So if you happen to have 10 kids that would include everyone. For extended family sessions (that would include grandparents or cousins, etc.) or family reunions I offer a variety of different packages to suit your needs.

  19. I am interested in booking a wedding, can I see a full gallery?

Of course! Reach out to me through email, and I can send you a full gallery example.
