How to Book a Wedding

Photographers everywhere have their own process and their own way of doing things. I’d like to walk you through what it’s like to book me for a wedding. Let’s start at the beginning. You’ve heard of me through a friend, or you’ve found me on google. You’ve explored my website and my work. Next step is:

  1. Contact me!

First things first; you’d need to contact me. There are several ways you can reach out to me. You can email me through the contact page on my website (which is my most prefered way!). You can message me through my Facebook or Instagram. However, on Instagram, if you don’t follow me, there’s a chance your message might be lost in my direct messaging requests. So make sure I know who you are. Always contact me through my email (korycallihanphotography@gmail.com) if you can’t get a hold of me there. I will always respond to genuine inquiries in a timely manner!

  2. Consultation Meeting

Once I send you my pricing and availability, and you express interest in booking, we pick a time for a consultation! This can be done at a local coffee shop in Columbus, Indiana. Or we can Facetime or zoom. I want to be able to get to know you and your fiancé and I want you to get to know me as well! I have a questionaire I will go through with you, and I will answer questions and explain the whole process. It’s important for both of us to make sure we’d be a good fit.

  3. Emails

Upon booking I will send you 4 emails. I will send you a modeling release (so that I can use the photos for sneak peeks and my portfolio, etc). I will also send a wedding photography contract. These both can be signed online. I will also send you an invoice. I require a 50% deposit when booking, and the remainder amount is due the day of the wedding. After that I will send a welcome guide, and any other additional details in a follow up email.

  4. Wedding day!

Depending on which package you book, we may or may not have seen each other for an engagement shoot already. Regardless, I show up on your wedding day (early) and get right to work! It is my goal to give you the day that you want. This means I am not only your biggest cheerleader and close friend, but I am also jumping in to help in any way I can.

  5. Gallery

Once I reveal sneak peeks and polish up all the photos in lightroom and photoshop, I email you a link to your online gallery. This is for you to share with family and relive your wedding day memories.

  6. Viewing and Ordering Session

Next we get together to discuss what prints and products you want. If your package included an album I will help you narrow down the photos you want to include in it. Ordering through me ensures the highest quality. I use a professional print lab that calibrates their printers, so that the colors I took so long to perfect come out perfectly. They use the best paper and are so sharp in comparison to other print labs. I also calibrate my monitor so that I can make sure the colors on my end match the colors from my print lab. All of my wedding packages include all of the digital images, so you can always print them off later if you choose to do it yourself.

  7. Package delivery

Once I gather all of the items ordered I gift package them beautifully and deliver them right to you (unless you are not local- in which case you’d receive it in the mail).

As you can see, we have worked with each other for quite some time at this point! After I close things out on my end you will likely receive a review request from me. I so appreciate questions and reviews. They not only help others find my small business, but they help me hone my customer experience for future clients. I hope this brings some clarity to my process for booking weddings! Thanks for reading, I hope to work with you soon!
